He was born in The Eastern Cape in 1947 at
Lady Frere. He left school to work on the Mines
in Egoli and worked at many of the Mines on the
East Rand and Rustenburg.
In 1983 he left the Highveld for Cape Town
where he worked at Gentech in Epping.
Since 2000 he has worked as a general Gardener
around the suburbs of Cape Town.
